Digital impressions and intra-oral scanners

Dental and orthodontic procedures have traditionally involved patients biting down on a gooey material to create a plaster model of their teeth, which would then be sent to a lab for manual design and casting. However, with modern technologies such as 3D scanning, modeling, and printing, we can achieve the same in just one day, making it shorter and more comfortable for the patient.

We utilize the latest technology, digital impressions, to capture a replica of the mouth. Our scanner is the IRIFIC (intra-oral) scanner. The process involves using a small wand connected to a computer to record a scan of the patient’s mouth. This creates a 3D model on the computer, which Dr. Gadkari uses to diagnose and plan for surgery, as well as fabricate various appliances such as crowns, bridges, digital dentures, and retainers.

Intra-oral 3D scanning is a non-invasive imaging technology that enables dental practitioners to obtain a 3D model of their patient’s mouth without the use of traditional impressions. In addition, the use of 3D scanning allows for faster turnarounds and improved end products, which ultimately benefit the patient.

Digital impressions can be stored on the computer for a long time. Dental impressions are quick and convenient. You do not have to keep your mouth open constantly and struggle to breathe. The procedure lasts only a few minutes.
